Signs of burnout

  • You aren’t excited to go to work.
  • You talk only about work and have no other interests.
  • You treat everyone as though you are working with them.
  • You dream about work, especially bad dreams.
  • You are angry at people for being the way they are.
  • You feel shame for your human limitations.
  • You have secondary trauma reactions – flashbacks, anxiety, depression or avoidance around work situations.
  • You want to drink, gamble of otherwise cut off from your feelings after work.
